    Why not stack the ceiling joists on the wall studs? It's only another joist or two and it would make the roof much stronger. Also, why notch the ceiling joists? You are weakening them, and it isn't necessary. You would get better airflow, too, without notching them.

    My only question is why didn't you buy the MM271 and save yourself $100? I know that your gate doesn't weigh over 300 lbs. Thanks.

    I tried it having a pretty good sense of where the line was and this confirmed it. I did it multiple times in different areas with emphasis on not subconsciously making them cross by tilting my hands. I will be gingerly probing for the lines to confirm.

    I think if you had a 10 foot rope on the engine side of the suction hose. Throw that end in the pond also pull it out with the rope and it will be full bc of the foot valve and it will be an instant prime if you lift the hose 5 ft away from the pump then water will drain into the pump and out into the flat hose. Worst case you have a rope wrapped around the suction hose 2 ft from the engine. Just an idea. Hey were dod you get the case for the hose?

  • @jeffbyrd7976
    @jeffbyrd7976 Месяц назад

    Yet another word on a great system. You are not limited to a 24' suction hose, you are limited to 24' of lift. If you have a water source a foot lower, you could have a couple of hundred feet of suction. I am glad you put a recirc line on it, I have seen some that have not. Thanks for the video.

    Thank you so much for this video! So much inspiration and ideas! I love how you used some scrap wood to create the slots for the fence boards to create an easily removable “door”. Another video I watched did some super complicated cut with a very expensive tabletop saw on a 4x4 post 😳 If you want to go SUPER overboard with your compost bins you could add some hinged lids and wrap around the sides and back of your compost bin with chicken wire or hardware cloth. LoL 😂 I have kids and a pack of coyotes that frequent our yard, and soon we will have dogs too, so I’m wondering how your bins have held up so far??? Would you consider making a short update video???

    Fwiw on pump brand at the property I live at we have 2 Honda pumps, a Northstar pump and 2 harbor freight pumps and have had as many or more issues with the Hondas than the cheaper ones. They all get used more or less equally. It feels nice to know there are a few Hondas but as far as what we've seen the reliability is fairly consistent across brands. We also use FH thread instead of camlock and then carry adapters if we need to hook up to a camlock supply. Not sure exactly why, but it's what they had in place when I moved here and the whole setup saw a lot of very successful use in the 2020 lightening fires. Our tanks are located at high points with outlets on the tanks and are all plumbed downhill with underground 3" pvc and steel risers to hook into near the major structures.

    The problem with renting an auger, is most of the time, at least the ones I rented, is that they have a dull blade, and can’t drill more than a couple of inches. And the ones I went to, don’t have a new blade that they can put on for you. I finally went to a brand new rental place, they had a brand new auger with a brand new blade. It drilled the holes like butter. I went back a month later to rent the same auger, and it had a dull blade, and couldn’t drill more than a couple of inches, and they didn’t have a replacement blade to put on the auger. So unless you get an auger with a sharp blade, it’s a waste of time and money renting an auger.
